National Volunteer Week 2019

National Volunteer week is upon us and it is our chance to say another huge ‘Thank You!’ to everyone that gives their time to help put Redfest on each year. Redfest takes a whopping 2,400 hours each year to organise and run, all of this is done by volunteers. That’s right, everyone involved gives their time for free and it is this joint effort that results in a fantastic day out for thousands of people.
Each day this week we want to showcase and celebrate some of our wonderful volunteers and hear from them about why they help and the different roles that they perform for Redfest.
Sally has volunteered for Redfest for 10 years, she’s been involved in lots of ways but currently works as our backstage wristband checker.
“I love volunteering for Redfest, I’ve met so many people living locally and its great to be involved in something that has such a positive effect on the community. It brings people together and makes them feel proud of the area that they live in. It’s such a worthwhile way to volunteer your time locally, which is why I am back year after year, plus you get to see some really great bands whilst volunteering: highlights for me last year were Lack of Afro and the Zaffiros”
If you would like to volunteer you can apply online; there are lots of different roles available which all help to make another Redfest for BS5 to remember.
