A guide to Redfest’s Main Stage line up by Factory Studios

Hello, I’m Zoe and I head up the team at Factory Studios who programme the main stage at Redfest.
Factory Studios has been an integral part of Bristol’s music scene for more than 10 years. Our rehearsal and recording studio, previously occupied by city legend Roni Size, sees a wealth of musical talent, both local and international, through its doors each week. Being based in BS5, we love being involved with Redfest and supporting such a great community festival.
Factory Studios have been a part of Redfest since 2012 when we first started programming the main stage, and over the years we have brought an abundance of homegrown talent in front of the crowds.

This year we aimed to create a really diverse programme that reflected the Bristol music scene and the upbeat party atmosphere of the festival. From ska, RnB and Latin, to Bhangra, funk and soul we hope the line-up won’t disappoint and includes something for everyone.
Headlining are Bristol institution and Factory Studios regulars, Dr Meaker. Over the years we have enjoyed seeing this act grow, win the Glastonbury Festival emerging talent competition and become one of the country’s best live soulful drum and bass acts. The band are excited to be playing the festival for the first time and will be sure to bring the party to a close with a bang.

Also on the bill this year are one of our firm favourites, RSVP. The band headlined back in 2016 and went down an absolute storm, we can’t wait to get this Bhangra outfit back on the stage, they’re always guaranteed to get everyone up on their feet.

We’ve also got Bristol favourite, Up, Bustle and Out, playing a set full of funk that takes in sounds from around the world, the city’s finest Cumbia and Latin purveyors Baila La Cumbia, reggae outfit Backbeat Soundsystem and raucous six piece ska & swing band, Year of the Dog.
We are also welcoming Konketsu to the stage this year – a band that fuses R&B, psychedelic soul, jazz and progressive rock, they are an emerging talent who’s fairly new on the scene, we are really excited about these guys and should definitely not be missed.
To open the festival we’ve got one of Bristol’s favourite party bands, Brass Junkies, they’ll be bringing New Orleans style jazz, pop and funk covers full of fun! Make sure you get down early.

It’s always been a pleasure for the Factory Studios team to be involved with an event like Redfest, and we are immensely proud to have it on our doorstep.
We hope that this year’s programme is enjoyed by the crowds, highlights the incredible Redfield community and shows off some of the city’s amazing talent that we are lucky enough to see daily.
