The fundraiser gigs are coming fast as lightning! Next up, it’s a night of reggae, drum&bass, disco, dubstep, rap (and lots more things beginning with D and R) on Saturday 26 March, 8pm till late at The Old Stillage in Church Road, the lovely local pub that is also a longtime headline sponsor of the festival.
DJs Mistri and Treat (Ujima Radio/The Remix) and Red Tom (Redfest) plus very special guests will be in charge of the tunes and there’ll also be BLINGO – like bingo, but with added bling!
Suggested donation of £3 on the door – all money will go to this year’s festival. See you there!
Back by popular demand, Redfest’s super fun pub quiz takes over the Old Stillage pub on Church Road for a night on 22 March 2016.
Come on down to test your knowledge, enjoy the live music intros round, and maybe win some cool prizes!
Just £2 per person and all proceeds go towards our fantastic annual festival for the Redfield community.
It’s our first party of 2016, with Paul Moylan (Gumbo) dipping into his trunk of funk, suitcase of soul and valise of vinyl and playing raw soul, R&B, deep funk and a whole load more tunes to dance to… plus Redfest’s own steel wheel superstars Russ and Dermot with a jump-up mix of reggae, afrobeat and funk.
“Where’s it to me babber?”, we hear you ask – well, it’s happening at the Plough Inn, Easton, on March 4, from 8 till late. We’d love you to come and join us and dance, drink or do whatever makes you happy!
All proceeds go towards this year’s festival. Suggested donation £3 on the door.
Yes by popular demand we are running another fundraising pub quiz at the Greenbank pub in Easton. Last time it was absolutely packed and we expect a big crowd again this time so come and brighten up your Monday by joining us for a fun and musical night! Live song intro round now confirmed (went down a storm last time!).
Teams of up to six, entry fee just £2 per person. All proceeds go towards Redfest 2016.
For those of you on social media please do sign up to the Facebook event and invite your local pals – but anyone can just turn up on the night and join in. If you don’t have a full team, don’t worry, you can always join one of the Redfest crew teams and make some new friends!
Prizes are currently a closely guarded secret but they will be just as ace as last time (and if you’d like to donate a prize please get in touch at info@redfestbristol).
When we saw Cafe Grounded (one of our headline sponsors) post this photo on their Facebook page we couldn’t resist sharing it! Barista Ashley’s groovy graphics have got us really excited about the line up on the Grounded Garden Stage. It’s is a lovely place to enjoy some intimate gigs if you prefer to get away from the crowds in the main festival, and with the added bonus of delicious food and drinks and cake… as every local knows, Grounded’s cake selection is one of the best in Bristol!
PS If you want to know more about the gig at the top of this list, click here to find out more about the Glow Globes fundraiser.
We all love to tap our feet to gypsy jazz, and we all love to fill our faces with pizza, so why not combine the two on Wednesday 8 July when the Glow Globes will play a fundraiser gig for us at Cafe Grounded. All you have to do is turn up and throw whatever cash you can spare into the Redfest donations bucket! It’s a great way to get over Hump Day: you get the entertainment and you also get to help support your favourite local festival.
A big thank you to everyone who came along to the first Redfest Quizfest on Monday 25 May 2015. Congratulations to everyone who won in the quiz and the raffle – we’d love you to send us a tweet or post on Facebook to let us know how you’re enjoying your prizes.
We raised £200, which is absolutely brilliant and will be essential to keeping the festival alive and free.
The Redfest team was out in force, we had a great time and it was great to meet lots of Redfest fans and some of our new volunteers. In fact, the Redfest Volunteers team came joint second (much to their surprise!) so we clearly have some brainiacs on the crew this year!
Once again our thanks go to the Greenbank pub for providing the venue, to prize-donaters Pieminister, Dig In Bristol, Bristol College of Massage and Bodywork, Cafe Grounded and Southville Deli, and to the Bristol Sweetmart, Maitreya Social and Butcombe Brewery, who between them provided some rather spiffing bangers and mash. And, last but very much not least, quizmistress Claire and her team of intriguing question-setters.
Let’s do it all again soon!
On June 3 the brilliant Kirsten Sings is joined by Andy Christie on guitar for a night of music at Redfield’s Cafe Grounded, in aid of Redfest.
What could be more lovely than some acoustic jazz folk tunes to accompany delicious food and maybe a cheeky midweek glass of wine?
Find them at Redfest headline sponsor Cafe Grounded, 287 Church Road, BS5, on 3 June 2015 at 7.30.
Come along and join in our quiz extravaganza at the Greenbank pub in Easton on 25 May. Top off your bank holiday weekend with a chance to win fabulous Bristolian prizes and celebrate Redfest’s new friends at one of our favourite pubs in the area.
There will be a live music round on the piano and free food to munch on if you arrive on time! All in aid of raising funds to make Redfest 2015 better than ever.
£2 per head entry, max. 6 people per team
