By Sophie and Sue – Volunteer Managers for Redfest

We are so pleased that Redfest is back in the Park!! Who doesn’t like a party in the park? Especially one with so much to offer! This year there will be bigger stages, more acts, an excellent food village and lots for the kids! What an incredible achievement for a volunteer-run, free, community festival!

We are a great team of volunteers who give our time freely and also have fun together. It takes a huge group effort to make sure that the whole thing is a success so that Redfest can be kept free and open to everyone in our mixed community. As a Redfest volunteer you would be an integral part of our team – Redfest literally cannot run without the help we get from local residents. As well as helping our community, volunteers always tell us that they have made friends and had fun.

We are a very friendly bunch and would be delighted for you to join us. You will get a Redfest tee shirt, a delicious lunch and the opportunity to enjoy the festival at the same time. There are about 70 roles we need help with – stewarding, artist liaison, gathering feedback, bucket shaking and working with the build and break team. Joining us will give you valuable skills and experience that can enhance your CV, as well as giving you the satisfaction of giving something back to your community.

We feel really privileged to be a part of this vibrant and amazing festival and hope you will join us. Click on this link to go to our volunteer application form, and we will be in touch with you soon. For those of you who can’t volunteer this year, we hope you will come along and enjoy the festival
anyway… And we’re always looking for people to join the core team too! Current vacancies can be found in our Get Involved section.

Looking forward to meeting you soon!
